Black Panther

Black Panther
After his father is killed, T’Challa returns home to become the new ruler of the advanced but reclusive kingdom of Wakanda. However, there are outside forces who threaten his kingdom. As Black Panther, T’Challa, along with the help of his sister, Shuri, and Nakia and Okoye, is determined to find out who’s behind it. But, with the arrival of Erik Killmonger, T’Challa may lose more than his throne. Here are a few movie mistakes to look for while watching “Black Panther”.

· M’Baku arrives to challenge T’Challa. He first approaches T’Challa while still wearing the mask and is wearing a wiring/strap as part of his tribal dress that goes over his right shoulder and across his chest. The strap has several small attachments on it. As he approaches, one of the pieces is sticking out to his right, near his shoulder. There’s another piece sticking out toward his left a couple inches down from the top one. A few moments later, when M’Baku takes off the mask and the pieces have moved, appearing farther up. Zuri asks, “What are you doing here”, and the pieces have changed again. They change position again when M’Baku addresses the people.

· T’Challa places the listening device on the back of Everett Ross’ left shoulder before he enters the interrogation room. The device is still there throughout the scene when he’s questioning Ulysses Klaue. Ross leaves the room and walks toward T’Challa and Okoye and the listening device is gone.

· CAUTION: May Contain Spoilers! Erik Killmonger defeats T’Challa in battle and is proclaimed the new king of Wakanda. The tribe elder has the necklace in her hands. In the closer view of her holding the necklace, the gold chain part is only a couple inches long. In the close-up view of Erik when she approaches and puts the necklace around his neck, the chain is now several inches longer.

· CAUTION: May Contain Spoilers! M’Baku shows Ramonda, Shuri and Nakia where T’Challa is. As part of the Black Panther ritual, they completely cover him in the snow. In the close-up when he sits up, no snow falls off him. Also during this scene, Romanda and Shuri are sitting to his right when he sits up. Nakia is behind his left shoulder. There’s a quick view of Everett Ross and the scene cuts back to T’Challa who’s now holding onto Nakia with his left arm elevated, stroking her hair. Her right cheek is against his head. It cuts to a quick view of M’Baku nodding and then back to T’Challa where Nakia is back in her original position, behind his left shoulder.

· Shuri is telling T’Challa when he fights for Wakanda, she’ll be right there beside him. The close-up view of T’Challa shows his brown robe is pulled close, touching his neck. M’Baku asks if they’re done and the wider view of T’Challa and the others shows the robe is farther away from his neck, on his right shoulder. It’s pulled closer when he thanks M’Baku.

“Black Panther” (2018) stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Sterling K. Brown, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker and Andy Serkis. It runs 134 minutes and is rated PG-13 for prolonged sequences of action violence, and a brief rude gesture.
